Support Omaha Art Fair Artists & Help Preserve OAF
On the morning of June 13, 2026, an unexpected severe storm with winds reaching 70 mph swept through the Omaha Art Fair at Aksarben Village, causing widespread destruction just hours before artists were set to welcome visitors.
More than 40 artist booths were damaged or destroyed. Artwork, displays, tents, inventory, and equipment were lost in a matter of minutes. While we're incredibly grateful that no one was seriously injured, the financial impact on artists and the fair itself has been significant.
For many artists, these losses represent months, or even years of work. Some artists lost thousands of dollars in inventory and equipment. Others lost original pieces that cannot simply be replaced. Many depend on art fairs and festival sales as a major source of their annual income.
At the same time, the Omaha Art Fair has become an important part of our community. What began as a vision to create a thriving arts event has grown through countless hours of dedication from organizers, volunteers, board members, sponsors, and artists. The fair has provided opportunities for artists, brought thousands of visitors together, and helped strengthen Omaha's creative community.
Your contributions will help:
• Provide direct relief to artists who experienced storm-related losses• Replace damaged artwork, inventory, tents, displays, and equipment• Offset travel and event expenses incurred by participating artists• Support recovery efforts that help ensure the long-term future of the Omaha Art Fair• Strengthen the fair's ability to continue serving artists and the Omaha community
This storm may have damaged booths, but it did not damage the spirit of the artists, volunteers, and supporters who came together to keep the event going. Even in the aftermath, artists and organizers worked tirelessly to reopen and welcome the community.
